About me

Education:

  • My higher education began at Deleware Valley College of Science and Agriculture, formerly known as the National Farm School, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. I started out as a horticulture major before transferring to the biology department.  In my senior year I collaborated with a classmate on a senior’s special project in exercise physiology in conjunction with the cardiology department at Doylestown Hospital.  I graduated in 1977 with my Bachelor of Science in Biology.

  • I then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in their Masters of Science degree program in the biology department while working at Hoffman-La Roche Pharmaceuticals and at Rutgers Medical School in the biochemistry department.

  • In 1980 I left both the job and the Master’s program upon acceptance to the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine which is now part of Temple University in Philadelphia.  As a student I worked with a classmate on a research project involving tibial torsion in newborns at Chester County Hospital.  I graduated in 1984 with my Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree.

  • In 1984 I performed my surgical residency at Oxford Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

  • In 2000 I studied acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver.  I graduated and obtained certification in medical acupuncture.

 Experience:
  • I have worked for Hoffman-La Roche in the immunochemistry department of their clinical laboratories.

  • I’ve worked at Rutgers Medical School as a Research and Teaching Specialist in the biochemistry department.

  • I’ve been the staff podiatrist at various hospitals in the Lower Mainland including Delta, Peace Arch, University of British Columbia and Riverview.

  • I’ve provided podiatric care to Tsawwassen and the surrounding community (including Vancouver and Mayne Islands) since 1987.

Associations/Licenses:

  • I retain licensure in British Columbia, Arizona, Oregon and Maine.

  • I am a member of the British Columbia Association of Podiatrists having served on many committees over the years.  I also hold membership in the Canadian Podiatric Medical Association and International Member of American Podiatric Medical Association.

Why British Columbia?

I was born and raised in New Jersey and primarily educated in Pennsylvania.  However, my wife and I visited BC in 1986 during the Expo festivities and realized this was the place to work, live and raise our family.  My older daughter was born in Pennsylvania and raised since age 4 in Tsawwassen.  My younger daughter was born here in BC and also grew up here in Tsawwassen.  This truly is a very special place; so close to many of the conveniences in life including the city of Vancouver, the international airport, BC Ferry terminals, the US border and far too many other things to mention.

One final thing worth mentioning is that we have the best weather in the area.  Come visit and find what we have found here in sunny Tsawwassen!
